Shanghai Jiading Industrial Zone
Situated in the northwest of Shanghai, Jiading Industrial Zone is a municipal-level industrial park approved by the People’s Government of Shanghai Municipality. It is divided into two main districts, the north zone and the south zone, covering an overall area of 78 square kilometers with a permanent resident population of around 105,000.
The South District
The south district was established in October 1992. An area of 24.8 square kilometers have been developed. The State-level Hi-tech Park, State Returned Overseas Students Jiading Business Incubator and Zhongke Hi-tech Park and so on have been founded in succession in the zone.
The North District
The north district was established in January 2003 approved by the People’s Government of Shanghai Municipality as a key experimental park. It is a base for advanced manufacturing industry with its core section covering an area of 32.4 square meters. In 2005, approved by the State Council in the core section of the north district, Jiading Exportation Processing Area was established covering an area of 3 square kilometers.
With the guidelines of high technology, high profit and environmental protection the north district is set up for modern manufacturing industries including automobile parts and components, photoelectronic information, precision machinery manufacturing, industrial design and productive services etc.
The district has achieved ISO9001 Quality Registration System and ISO 14000 International Environmental Management Registration in 2004. Infrastructures, namely “seven accesses and one leveling” including road, water, electricity, fuel gas, sewage, rain drainage, telecommunication and land-leveling are in complete readiness. By the end of 2005 it has attracted more than 300 investors from over 20 countries and regions to register with an overall project investment of more than 7 billion USD.
