Fahua Pagoda
Fahua Pagoda, also named Jinsha Pagoda, was initially built in Kaixi period of South Song Dynasty (1205 鈥 1207).聽 It is located by Lianqi River, south of Zhenzhou Bridge in Jiading District. After times of renovation, Fahua Pagoda still remains its original style and features. Ascend along the stairs floor by floor, tourists can see the scenery of the whole city on the top level of the pagoda. The pagoda was renovated again in 1996, which contributes to the beauty of Jiading District. |

Guyi Garden
Guyi Garden lies by Huyi Road of Nanxiang Town.聽 It is one of the famous gardens in South Changjiang River area in Ming Dynasty.聽 The name of the Garden origins from a verse of Shi Jing (Classic of Poetry) and means the vivid and lively green colour of bamboo. The legend of white crane flew to the south and tens of rare kinds of green bamboo make this place attractive and wonderful. No one will hesitate to praise the scenery of the garden鈥檚 Yiye Hall, Goose Paddle Pool, Pine and Crane Garden, Green and Clear Garden, Mandarin Duck Lake, South Fly Wall and etc. The elegant and delicate garden of primitive simplicity is filled with Ming-Dynasty architecture, couplets and verses, paths decorated with pebbles and flowers, which enables the garden to win the same fame like Suzhou gardens, which have long been regarded as the most beautiful gardens in the world. |

Huilongtan Pool Park
Huilongtan Pool Park locates at Tacheng Road, Jiading Town.聽 The park is adjacent to Confucian Temple. The Park got its name from the Huilong Tan pool (Pool of Convergent Dragons) in the front. The 400 year old pool was dredged up in Wanli period of Ming Dynasty (1588). It is said that five streams converged at the site of the Huilong Tan and the situation is just like five Chinese dragons winding their way. Yingkui Hill in the centre of the pool.聽 Seen from above, the hill is like a pearl surrounded by dragon-like green water, which forms an impressive natural beauty.
When the construction of Huilongtan Pool Park was started in 1928, it was named as 鈥淜uishan Hill Park鈥. By the side of the Pool is Kuixing Pavilion with double overhanging eaves, and among the luxuriant green trees on the hill is Siyi Pavilion, facing the plate of Confucian Temple in the distance.聽 Water reflection of the hill scenery doubles the beauty of the environment. Besides the natural scenery, the park also has cultural and historic relics such as the monuments of Hou Tongzeng and Huang Chunyao, who are regarded as 2 personages of loyalty in Ming Dynasty, and the site of wretched slaughtering of thousands of Small Knife Society risers. Other primitive, historic and well-protected scenic spots include stone pavilions, stone pagodas, stone hills and etc. of different dynasties such as Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing, and etc. |

Confucian Temple and Confucius Square
The Confucian Temple lies at the South Street of Jiading Town.聽 The Confucius Square and the Bell of Top Scholar have just built recently.聽 These are good places to touch the historic and ancient knowledge.
Jiading Confucian Temple was started to be built in the 12th year of Jiading period of South Song Dynasty, which is more than 780 years ago.聽 After being times of renovation, reconstruction and build-out in Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasty, the Temple finally won her fame as 鈥渢he best in the central area of Wu鈥. 3 memorial archways erected out of the temple are respectively named as 鈥淵anggao鈥, 鈥淴ingxian鈥, and 鈥淵ucai鈥.聽 The stone balustrade along the archways was decorated with 72 stone lions, each of which has its unique pose and feature. The magnificent Dacheng Palace is the main building of the Temple.聽 In the palace are placed Confucius statue and a calligraphy sculpture of LunYu, which is the most representative record of Confucius鈥檚 ideology. Some of the rubbings from ancient inscriptions in the corridors on both sides of Mingluntang Hall are extremely valuable in terms of archaeology. The remarkable relic exhibition inside of the temple vividly displays the 1300-year history of China鈥檚 imperial examination in full and accurate description of its process and reasons of beginning, development, and disappearance. |
