| Shanghai Jiading Hi-tech Park
Shanghai Jiading Hi-tech park is one of the“one zone and six parks”of Shanghai High and New Technological Development Zone which was approved in 1991 by the State Council, and one of the first batch of state level business incubators for returned overseas students which were established by the Ministry of Personnel, of Science and Technology and of Education. The planned area of the park is 2 square kilometers with the part that developed already 1.6 square kilometers among which are 10,000 square meters for the Business Incubator Building and 20,000 square meters for the Business Starting Building, and at the same time, a service center of 1,600 square meters were equipped for supporting purpose.
A high and new technology innovation service center was specially established, within which a variety of preferential policy consultation service platform, intermediate cooperation service platform and investment &financing platform have been set up aiming at supporting high-new tech enterprises. Under the all-out support and nurturing of the park, there have been up to 600 enterprises registered in the park with more than 1,000 returned overseas students involved. Among the legal persons of these enterprises there are 100 doctors and 150 masters. Enterprises in the park own up to more than 100 invention patents and among them there are 18 recognized as high and new technology enterprises by Shanghai High and New Technological Office.
In the development of recent years, Jiading Hi-tech Park, with the dominant industrial orientations of advanced manufacturing industries including mechatronics, photoelectronics and information technology, regional and functional industry (automotive industry) as well as modern service industry etc., with the strategic development goal of nurturing high technology featured, “small titan-like”enterprises; for the purpose of lowering initial investment, boosting success rate of business starting, avoiding enterprise risks during its growing and expanding enterprises’development spaces, has been trying its utmost, to provide enterprises with a series of practical and efficient services, to build up a platform for communication and cooperation, to promote the effective combination of advanced technology and rich resources, and to foster high and new technological enterprises as well as compound style entrepreneurs who has international competitivenesses.
In 2006 the construction of the north part of the industrial zone, covering an area of 500 mus, will be accelerated, with the emphasize put on“Jiading Silicon Valle” of 75 mus. Through the building of the base of headquarters integrated with R&D and sales, R&D centers and technology incubating, the park is striving for the creating of a sound environment for the scientific research and development of high tech enterprises as well as small scale productions, also, for the creating of desirable conditions for the hi-tech R&D and business starting of returned overseas students.
